The Wainright Story

Our History

In 1985 Alice Wainright began managing rental apartments as a sole proprietor.  The business has grown steadily from managing 16 rental units in 1985 to managing more than 2,500 rental units today.  As the business grew employees and family members were added to the staff.  Keith Wainright joined the firm in 1993; Sandra Wainright joined the firm in 1994, and Karen Wainright Jacobs joined the firm in 2000.  All have been awarded B.S. degrees in Business Administration from East Carolina University.

On January 1, 1998, the ownership form of the company changed from a sole proprietorship owned by Alice Wainright to a limited liability company owned by Alice and son Keith as members/managers.  Alice semi-retired January 1, 2007 and Keith and Sandra Wainright and Karen Jacobs now own and manage the company.  All owners are licensed real estate brokers and Keith is also a licensed building contractor and a certified restoration technician.  Keith is the broker-in-charge of the office and there is only one office location. Wainright Property Management, LLC is an independently owned and managed company.  The staff consists of 15 full time permanent positions including the owners and 5 part-time positions.

The maintenance staff consists of 4 full-time service technicians for repairs and 1 carpet-cleaning technician for cleaning carpets and restoration.  Sub-contractors provide painting, cleaning, HVAC and electrical services.

Wainright Property Management, LLC is the largest rental management company in Greenville, managing rental apartment units for 51 investment groups and managing 75 rental accounts consisting of more than 2,500 rental units.  Many clients date back to the first years of the business and their loyalty provided the basis for growth.   With minor exceptions all rental units are located in the Greenville and Winterville City limits.
